Begining

The Mormon Cowboy and his Lady our my maternal grandparents; Glen Calhoun Haynie and Aula Martineau. Grandpa become to known as the "Mormon Cowboy" in the early 1970's, when his son-in-law, Wayne Schneider, recorded then published the stories of Grandpa's experiences growing up in the Mormon Colonies of Old Mexico, on his father's cattle ranch. Which was entitled "The Mormon Cowboy"

The stories have become folklore in our family, a rich heritage, which as a grandson want to pass on to the generations which will follow me. I have been writing a detailed history of these two fine people, who were just common ordinary folks, yet because they are my grandparent, they are more than just common to me, they lived a full life which is full of examples on how to live.

While I anticipate that this history will be finished in the coming year, I thought I would write about my journey in researching and writing about the Mormon Cowboy and His Lady and those from whom they descend.
